Summer can actually be quite nice! :)

Well what can I say, the past couple of weeks have been really nice!:)) I would love to see more of this gorgeous sun, please please! :) I went to the gym again today and as much as I love it I get a little disappointed that I don't see the results yet. I try and exercise 2-3 times a week at least and practically don't consume any sugar...Plus having a 5-year old in the house you just can't stay still (I know some of you can relate :)) What am I doing wrong? Has anyone gone through anything like that?

I've been going through the photos from our Trash The Dress Session from last week and really liked how this photo came out. I edited it with a mix of Totally Rad Actions , I just love playing with them and test new stuff all the time. I usually don't go that extreme with post processing but I kinda wanted to give this photo a look from an old movie. Hopefully I was successful. :) Let me know in the comment section below this post if you have any questions and if you like/don't like it..(hopefully like!:)))...

Ekaterina: Trash The Dress Session

WOW! For the first time EVA I got a chance to shoot a Trash The Dress Session for Ekaterina with Sergei Belski . I love shooting with this guy! I'm still going through tons of photos and will be posting these for now but promise not to keep you waiting for the rest of them! :) I just had too much fun..:) Trash The Dress is a type of photo shoot where the former bride will:
1) have tons of fun!!
2) have tons of fun!!!!
3) will get to walk through the mud, sit or lay on the grass, get into icey cold pond or stand in the waterfall (next in plans!:), etc, it may also take place in an urban setting as well - which translates into 4) have even more fun and play!!!!! :)))

We had a little accident on our way back though - just when we decided it was time to head back home (ahh...home...where we have freezing cold orange juice and ice cream, that's all I can think about in this HOT weather we've been having in Calgary lately :)...Anyways, we realized the car keys were locked in the trunk! I mean it's 8 pm at night, we're 1,5 drive away from home in the middle of nowhere..:) We wanted to thank Sergei for staying with us and phoning AMA for us (apparently Apple has better reception than Fido) and then waiting with us for 2 hours until AMA's contractor from Cochrane came to the rescue. Whoohoo!

A special thanks to our wonderful couple - Ekaterina and Ivan! Ekaterina is simply stunning and a natural model, I loved working with her. On to the photos now..:)

Never too late to play with baloons :)

Jennifer and Corey's wedding

I had a wonderful opportunity to photograph the intimate wedding of Jennifer and Corey that took place in the house of Jennifer's parents this past Saturday. There were only close friends and family and oh my god were they a fun bunch of people!! :)) They were laughin and cracking jokes all the time, it was hard to hold the camera steady...haha..:) Jennifer has two beautiful sisters and a brother, and you should have seen the joy and pride on Corey's face when he was talking about becoming part of this big family! Jennifer and Corey's son Cole was simply adorable! Thank you so much, guys, for letting me be a part of this great day, even for a short time! I wish you lots of happy years together! Hugs! Here're a few imaes from the day:

Drew, Allison and Ducati999R

Hi everyone, I've been playing around with the blog html (I didn't know this word until yesterday when I decided to learn how to post bigger photos on here so people don't have to click to enlarge images, here's the tutorial btw http://www.blueorchidblog.com/2007/10/how-to-have-large-photos-on-your-blog.html ..:), well just to make it more fun and easier for everybody...:) plus it's always great to learn new tricks and for me it was a true REVELATION as I'm sort of...technically challenged to put it mildly :) The IT guys at the company I work at probably roll their eyes every time I beg them for help which happens a lot..:) So yesterday I was extremely proud of myself for figuring this stuff out (it only took me a few hours, so what?) :)...Anyways, first things first - on to the story and the photos:

Last week I had a blast taking photos of Drew and his beautiful sister Allison aka Elmo (I just love her nickname!). They showed up looking even cooler than cool and we headed to an awesome little spot we discovered just outside of the city and it was the perfect spot to take photos of Drew's HAWT bike! He's a proud owner of Ducati 999R. How sweet is that! He's travelled in Italy on bike tours twice (what a rocking experience for sure!), and Drew has got a lot of awesome stories to share, he's got a real talent for writing, I gotta tell ya. And I'm so glad that Allison was able to join the photo session, she is just simply gorgeous! They both are so laid back, it was a pleasure to capture their great personalities, smiles and laughs. Thank you so much, guys!

Great looking Drew and Allison:

Yes it was raining the whole time, we were wet and dirty and had a BLAST! :)

Isn't Allison gorgeous??

And she's a biker, too! Hmmm...For some reason this photo got cut off, please click on it to see the full version:

Thanks so much, guys, for being so fantastic and brave in the rain! I had so much fun at our session!

Can you please let me know if you can see the photos, I've uploaded them differently this time. Hope they show up.

Is Stampede over?

I mentioned in my previous post that I was about to go and watch the rodeo at the Calgary Stampede for the first time...How fun was that?? It was amazing!!! We got there at about 10 am to go on a tour at the indian village, saw lots of crafts and native dancing...loved it!

The gang! Irina, Ingrid, Renata, me and Keith:
Pizza on a stick?? Seriously? I'll try it next year...:)

Some highlights from the rodeo:
I was sitting about 200 meters from all the action and was trying to squeeze the best out of my little point and shoot...:)
Man she was going FAST!
An uh-oh moment, a horse tripped and fell: She was not the winner:
Dangerous games with the bulls. I actually can't believe they get teenagers to ride smaller bulls!

Overall it was a great experience and I can't wait to do more Stampeding next year, it's lots of fun!!
