Swimming and smiles!!

Hi everyone! Tim and I went to the swimming pool tonight for his first class. I couldn't stay with him in the pool and had to watch from the top room through a glass wall. Since there were only 3 boys (and for the first 10 minutes there were only two - Timofey and another boy) they all got a lot of attention from the coach and loved playing in the water (after all for kids everything is done through play, right?). I was watching him and was so happy to see how excited he was! We'll be going twice a week now for the whole month of April and I'm pumped that we're going there again this Thursday! Swimming means a lot to me as I used to be a swimmer. When I was in Junior High in Russia I had swimming 2 times A DAY - before and after school - for 4 years, and I was loving it. So I hope Tim enjoys his swimming classes, too.:)

I've been waiting for so long to post these! :)) I can't even start describing to you how great this family is - loving, caring, fun, good looking - they've got it all and more! I met Carolina and her family through my good friend Elaine and we hit our secret location for their photo session. The kids had a blast and were so well behaved I was amazed beyond belief.:))) All of them gave me so many beautiful smiles that my heart melted. Great times! I wanted to thank you guys for being such a great bunch, I had the time of my life shooting your photos! xoxoxo

A great family from Airdrie!

Last week Tim and I packed up and drove all the way to Airdrie for a photo shoot for my co-worker Kim. I'm saying "all the way" because it was a real adventure to me going to a whole different city (even if it's only half hour away) since I got my driver's license not so long ago. I love driving through and Tim and I had a blast going up Deerfoot. I know I'm lame - I kinda like Deerfoot..lol..:))) Anyways after a couple of phone calls to Kim to make sure we're on the right way we made it safe to their beautiful house. The kids were playing inside and got excited to have Tim as a playmate - sooo cool!:)) You could just feel the energy in this house - 3 boys (2 Erics and Liam) and a beautiful girl Robyn were so cute in their matching shirts and jeans, but as soon as the formal photos were done they all were thrilled to change back into their everyday clothes and just play. I love taking photos of people not really posing or being aware of the camera. The little boy Liam was adorable when he was blowing kisses and playing with his toys...awww! Robyn was a S T A R! Thanks for being such a great model for me, girl! Thanks to all of you guys, it was so hard to pick just a few photos to post and I hope you'll be able to see the heart of this wonderful family!

Secret location shoot - sneak peak!

I had a nice nap after work and was feeling energized after to get down to some of the photos I've been meaning to edit for about a week now. :) I'm so lucky to have Elaine who is willing to go out with me to different (sometimes weird but most of the time quite unique) places and just play and be herself! She loves being in front of the camera and loves posing - what more can a I wish for??! :)) In a couple of my previous posts I mentioned that we had hit this a-w-e-s-o-m-e spot in the south of Calgary (our special thanks to our friend Carolina who introduced us to this location!! xoxo :)) and had a time of our lives! I picked these couple of photos to edit first and loving them. And of course I have shoe photos...hehe...I just haven't got to them yet, they are on the way. :) Elaine looks gorgeous here! Whatcha think?

Change of Heart

I know I probably shouldn't recommend the book I haven't even finished reading myself but I can't help it! If you have time please get a copy of Jodi Picoult's "Change of Heart" - it's truly amazing! It talks about love and faith, and agonizing pain of loosing those you love. The way the author narrates is also quite interesting. Not the ordinary book for sure. And I'm definately going to read more of her work!
Here's the review: http://www.jodipicoult.com/change-of-heart.html

“Do you remember the last book you read where, after each couple of pages, you had to set the novel aside and regroup? Think to yourself, ‘Wow, what would I do?’ I know, because I just finished Jodi Picoult’s latest best-seller, Change of Heart. This, the 15th Picoult novel since 1992, is a page-turner, not in the mystery-murder fashion, but in the breath-taking, thought-provoking way.”

Beautiful Lorie...

Hi everyone! Hope your weekend was fabulous! A couple of our friends and I went to Calgary zoo on Saturday but didn't stay too long as it was freeeeezing! Tim had a blast as usual though - give this guy some space and comfortable shoes and he doesn't care about the weather...hee hee..:) There's a lot of renovations going on in the zoo and I can't wait to go there again once it gets a bit warmer. Friday was amazing, too - Elaine and I had an absolutely EXTRAORDINARY location for a photo shoot which we hit early in the morning and spent like 4,5 hours there. I am not ready to post any photos yet as I've been working on other images, but hope I have intrigued you enough to come back here in a few days to check out those photos! :)
Some of you might remember Lorie's photo session from way back in August 2008 I think. Lorie is a pal of mine from work and last week we decided to scout some back alleys in downtown Calgary again to take photos (easily done since I work in dontown :). Lorie has changed a lot in the past few months and we wanted to take some photos of her new look (looking gorgeous, girl!!). My other pal from work, Ingrid, was helping and encouraging us as well!

Photo shoot with Jim.

Wow was it ever an awesome day! Jim is such a great guy and it's so much fun to be around him, we had a blast taking the photos for him!
I love downtown Calgary, it has so many beautiful spots and locations for photographers - a real find. This time we were walking through Eau Claire and Prince Edward Island and by the end we stopped at Starbucks for coffee as it was starting to snow (upredictable Calgary weather!) and got a few great shots there as well. Thanks for introducing me to Cinnamon Dolce Latte, Jim! It was delicious!

TIm's Birthday Blast!

We had a very special day on Saturday - Tim had a fantastic Birthday party (and I'm still in the process of going through all the photos and videos). His actual birthday was on the 12th of March though. We had Mad Science over (highly recommend) and had a wonderful time watching all the kids sit on the floor with their mouths open looking and listening intently to the Mad Scientist as he performed his tricks. :) So much fun! I'll put up photos tonight /hopefully!/...Tim was enjoying his friends' company and all the new toys that he got, he hasn't even watched TV that much since last Thursday...haha! I gotta have his B-day party more often.:)

I had a busy weekend, too - 3 photo shoots and literally over two thousand of photos to go through, (over 25GB!!), can't wait to post those!
And here's the photo from my baby's party as promised.:))

8th of March

Not many of you know that today was the International Women's Day..:) It's a lovely holiday that helps women be...women, i.e. be beautiful! My husband gave me the most beautiful bouquet of white tulips (my favourite flowers!) early in the morning and then baked a cake. Tim wanted to marry me once again :)) and dance with me, oh what a beautiful day! We went to the swimming pool with our son and enjoyed the afternoon together, in our busy lives it's a rare occasion unfortunately. Here're some photos from today, of course I couldn't just sit and enjoy the flowers, I had to be floating with the camera around them..:) Well that's what gives me bliss in life.:)

School Time...well almost.:)

Since Tim's birthday is coming up, we got a parcel from Yaroslavl from our family with some crafts and books for Tim and he got to them right away! :))) There were books on Russian alphabet and numbers (you do know Russians have the same numeric system as Canadians, right?:)) So Tim was very surprised that Russian "C" was pronounced as "S" and "B" was pronounced as "V"...And I'm not even talking about those difficult sounds "ъ", "Щ", "Ж", and he can't roll an "R" yet...:)) Poor guy was really confused! Wow time in school should be interesting!
And...here's this cool "super cow" from Russia as Tim calls it.:)))
